Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk
The canyon town's tallest and most complete, suited to Colorado mountain weekends.
Property overview
Ameristar Casino Resort Spa Black Hawk sits in Black Hawk, Cripple Creek, and Deadwood and reads, from the first minutes in the lobby, as the canyon town's tallest and most complete. This assessment covers the room product, the service layer, the dining programme, and the practical business of getting in and out of the building.
It suits Colorado mountain weekends more than any other group, and the fit is specific enough that guests outside that description often find the property does not match what they wanted from the trip. The stay is defined by rooftop pool and spa, canyon outlooks and ara restaurant.
One practical point carries more weight than the score: the rooftop pool at 8,500 feet is the property's signature. Guests who plan around that single fact tend to rate the stay higher than the headline number would suggest.

Stay questions
What are the parking arrangements?
The property offers self-parking and valet. Neither is normally included in the room rate, so budget for it separately.
Should I book restaurants in advance?
Advance booking is strongly advised for the signature rooms, especially at weekends. Casual venues are usually fine without one.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Cancellation terms are set by the property and vary by rate. Flexible rates usually allow free cancellation up to 24 to 72 hours before arrival; prepaid rates typically do not.
